We recognize many people have their first significant experience with nature at camp. We also recognize that as open spaces become increasingly rare in our communities, it is critical these areas are thoughtfully considered to provide needed amenity, respite, and balance in our increasingly urban and complex lifestyles. 

In every camp site design and master planning project, we have a unique opportunity to reveal qualities, feelings, and characteristics about places that are otherwise invisible to the naked eye. A camp master plan can be sensory, phenomenological, and experiential in nature. It can be all these at once. The master plan provides opportunities to uncover memories, mark routines, and speculate about future events, transforming intangible environmental and ecological qualities into tangible experience.
